Steam credit is one of the easiest gifts for a PC gamer: they pick the game, you cover the cost. On Refillarena you can pay for a Steam Wallet code with Bitcoin, USDT or another supported coin and pass the code on to a friend or family member. The one thing that decides whether the gift works is the currency of their Steam Wallet, not yours. This guide walks through it step by step.
Step 1: Find out the recipient's wallet currency
Every Steam Wallet runs in one currency. A wallet code is issued in a specific currency and only loads onto a wallet in that same currency. So before you buy anything, ask the person you are gifting:
- Log in to Steam and click your account name in the top right corner.
- Open Account details.
- Check the symbol next to the wallet balance (for example $, EUR, AED or SAR) or the currency shown on store prices.
If you want to keep the gift a surprise, ask what currency their Steam store shows prices in. That is the same information.
New account with an empty wallet? The first code redeemed sets the wallet currency, and Steam may ask for an address to confirm it. In that case, buy the card for the country they actually live in. Our Steam regions guide explains why this choice is hard to undo.

Step 2: Match the card to their wallet
| Recipient's wallet runs in | Card to choose on Refillarena | Example price at checkout |
| US dollars | Steam USA | USD 20 card for about $22.98 |
| Euros | Steam EU | EUR 20 card for about $26.62 |
| UAE dirhams | Steam UAE | AED 100 card for about $31.28 |
| Saudi riyals | Steam KSA | SAR 100 card for about $30.62 |
| Qatari riyals | Steam Qatar | QAR 100 card for about $31.56 |
| Kuwaiti dinars | Steam Kuwait | KWD 5 card for about $18.83 |
| Another currency | Poland, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, South Africa | See the product page |
Prices are a snapshot from October 2026 and move with exchange rates. Confirm the current amount on the Steam gift card page.
Step 3: Choose an amount that covers the game
If you have a specific game in mind, ask your friend to check its price in their store, because prices differ by region. Then pick a card value at or above that price. If one card is not enough, buy two smaller cards in the same currency. They can be redeemed one after the other and the balance adds up.
If you do not have a game in mind, a round amount works well. US dollar cards are available at 5, 10, 20, 30, 50, 100 and 200 USD.
Step 4: Buy the code with crypto
- Open the Steam page on Refillarena and select the region that matches the recipient's wallet.
- Choose the amount and add it to your cart.
- Enter the email address where the code should be delivered. Use your own email if you want to check the order and hand the code over yourself.
- Select crypto at checkout and send the exact amount shown. With USDT the amount stays close to the card price; with Bitcoin the figure depends on the rate at the moment you pay.
- Once the network confirms the payment, the code arrives by email.

Step 5: Hand over the code the right way
- Send it privately. A direct message or email to the recipient only. Anyone who sees the code can redeem it.
- Do not redeem it yourself to "test" it. Once a code is redeemed, the credit stays on the account that redeemed it and cannot be moved to another account.
- Keep your order email until your friend confirms the balance has arrived. If something goes wrong, the order number is what support needs.

Step 6: Your friend redeems the code
The recipient logs in to Steam, clicks their account name, opens Account details, selects Add funds to your Steam Wallet, then Redeem a Steam Gift Card or Wallet Code, and enters the code. The balance appears straight away. If Steam shows an error, our Steam redemption troubleshooting guide covers each message and its fix.
Wallet code or a game gifted inside Steam?
Steam also lets people buy a specific game as a gift inside the Steam store. That purchase is paid on Steam and follows Steam's own gifting rules. A wallet code is different: you can pay for it with crypto, there is no need to guess which game your friend wants, and they can spend it on games, DLC or in-game items.
